If you are at all familiar with the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, you will recognize the annuals garden that borders the Lily Pond Terrace. The rose colored walkway was a nice counterpoint to all the green in the background, and the scene was enhanced by the little pops of color - white and bright yellows of the flowers, and the dark red of the (I think) Japanese maple tree by the stairs. I set up to paint there one late afternoon at the end of the summer season, and was pleased to find that it was not very crowded with visitors. However, after a couple of hours, there was all sorts of activity - a drawing session with a half dozen people sitting around the edge of the Lily Ponds, and lots of people strolling by, enjoying the evening open hours. Luckily, most people were much more interested in the plants and the ambience than in pestering me :)) Although I am probably in several tourists’ photos of the garden!!
