I painted this on-site for an exhibition with the Hudson River as the theme. It was a hot, slightly overcast day around the Fourth of July. The colors and rhythm of the flags made an interesting composition with the Tappan Zee Bridge (now known as the Mario Cuomo Bridge) crossing the Hudson River in the background.
