Save the dates! GOS 2018 will be October 20 & 21, noon to 6 pm. This will be my 17th consecutive year participating in this fantastic community event.
Over 300 artists will open their studios to the public. So much fun to to see art being made today, get a glimpse of where it happens, and to chat with artists about their inspiration and process.
If you're interested in volunteering, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. We can always use your help prior to the event and especially during the event weekend. There's a great group of artists and non-artist volunteers, so join in! (I work on Business Sponsorships, so if you have a local business and would like to show your support to our huge and diverse community, send me an email.)
An exhibition of sunny, bucolic scenes from around Umbria, Italy, painted by Ella Yang during a residency in 2017. Mostly painted "en plein air" from the tiny medieval village of Montecastello di Vibio, there are views of colorful patchwork farms in the valley below as well as charming light-filled piazzas in town.
Annual fundraising event for Arts Gowanus - view a curated art exhibition of 75 Gowanus artists, enjoy delicious food and beverages from local supporting businesses, mingle with artists and art-lovers, and get excited about the artwork you will take home at the end of the evening.

A group exhibition that explores the idea of urban streets and public places as spaces of and/or for expression and production with works by artists from Pyongyang, New York, Seoul, and Beijing. Curated by Heng-Gil Han of Korea Art Forum.
A two-person exhibit of photography and paintings by Brooklyn artists Amy Williams and Ella Yang. Each artist explores New York City scenes as well as views captured during “escapes” from the intense urbanity they both call home.
Yang's oil paintings of rooftop and skyline scenes will adorn the walls of the main entrance lobby of the Aloft Hotel in Downtown Brooklyn.
The 19th annual Gowanus Open Studios promises to be even bigger and better this year. Be sure to stop by my studio to see my most recent paintings and say "hi". My studiomates and I will offer our traditional candycorn and pretzels, and beverages. Our studio will be "family-friendly". Bring the kids and grandparents!
Our studios will be open from Noon to 6:00 PM each day.

My second solo exhibition at 440 Gallery will showcase paintings I have done over the years of scenes that most people might not merit a second look. Commonplace rooftop views and street scenes, often a little gritty, but bound to be interesting in the right light, at the right time of day. Click here to read the press release.
