On a teasingly somewhat warm spring day, I decided at the last minute to paint outside. I was at my studio and it was already mid-afternoon, so I set up barely a block from my studio building. The oranges and reds were eye-catching and the assortment of shapes with a backdrop of trees just starting to sprout new leaves seemed to make an unusual composition.
