It was hard to ignore the bright leaves lifting out of the water with delicate pink flower buds against the intense cobalt blue reflected on the pool’s surface. I learned that this is not a water lily, but a sacred lotus. Regardless, the gracefully shaped leaves and their reflections in the water create a sort of still life with the cloud reflections creating interest in the background. I really enjoyed capturing the light-infused brightness of the leaves. Even the shadows - in the leaves and reflections of the leaves - had light in them!
