Brooklyn brownstones are naturally eye-catching for me with their myriad architectural details, patterns of shadows that depend on the time of day, reflections of the sky and trees that are ubiquitous, and the individual character expressed by the gardening choices made by their inhabitants. While most of this scene is actually in shadow, the flickers of sun-kissed surfaces and light diffused through a trees leaves create a bright view. (By the way, the photo does not accurately capture the light/shadow nuances!)
