In case you had not heard, a major rezoning of my studio neighborhood, Gowanus, has unleashed a tsunami of residential development especially along the Gowanus Canal, a smelly Superfund site. While the addition of housing is laudable, I will desperately miss the open skies and unruly, low slung, semi-derelict structures that played starring roles in so many paintings of the last 20+ years.

Back in 2010 I self-published a book of Gowanus views, and a few months ago I decided it was time for an updated compilation. Who knows if I will make many more since the views have changed so completely?!
